Few places offer a wedding backdrop quite like New Jersey. Say your vows with the Manhattan skyline glittering across the Hudson, dance barefoot as the sun sets over the Shore, or celebrate in a Somerset Hills estate surrounded by rolling countryside. A live wedding painter turns that view, and the moment you share in front of it, into a work of art you'll keep forever. Every artist below has been personally interviewed and hand-selected by our founders, and travel and accommodation are included in every quote. Browse their work, and when someone feels right, send an inquiry.

New Jersey couples have something most don't: a view people travel to see. From the waterfronts of Jersey City, Hoboken and Weehawken, the Manhattan skyline becomes part of your wedding, and a live painter can make it part of your painting too. Your artist works in real time as the evening unfolds, capturing your first dance, your toast, or the city lights coming on behind you. It's a moment your photographer will capture in a frame, and your painter will capture in a feeling. Discover more about live wedding painting and how it works on the day.
North Jersey and South Jersey celebrate differently, and our artists know it.
North Jersey weddings tend toward the elegant and the grand: black-tie ballrooms in Bergen County, historic mansions in Morris County, and estate weddings across the Somerset Hills, where formal gardens and sweeping lawns make for beautiful compositions.
South Jersey weddings lean into the coast: relaxed, sun-soaked celebrations along the Shore, from the boardwalk energy of Asbury Park to the Victorian charm of Cape May.
And in between, Hunterdon County offers barns, farms and Delaware River views, New Jersey's answer to countryside romance, especially when the leaves turn in fall.
A Shore wedding brings its own magic, and its own practicalities. Our artists are used to working outdoors, setting up with the light, the breeze and the tide in mind, and choosing the moment when the sky is at its most beautiful. If your ceremony is on the sand, tell us when you inquire so your artist can plan the perfect spot to paint from.
New Jersey's seasons shape its weddings. Shore weddings peak from June to September, when the evenings are long and golden. Fall belongs to the countryside, with Hunterdon, Morris and the Somerset Hills at their most striking from late September into October. And winter is the season for the grand ballroom, when candlelight and city views take center stage. Whatever the season, popular dates go quickly, so we recommend inquiring 6 to 12 months ahead.
Some of our artists complete your painting live, so you can see the finished piece before your last dance. Others capture the scene on the day, then return to the studio to add the fine detail that makes a painting extraordinary. Each artist's profile explains how they work, and we're happy to help you decide.
Every artist on TheWeddingPainters is personally interviewed by our founders and has their portfolio audited before joining. We look for talent, warmth and reliability, because the person painting your wedding should feel like part of your day. Read more about how we select our artists.
Starting prices with our New Jersey artists range from $1,500 to $5,000, depending on the artist, the size of the canvas, the level of detail and the style of the piece. Starting prices don't include travel, but your personalized quote always does, covering your artist's travel and accommodation so you know the full cost upfront. Your artist will confirm deposit and payment terms in your quote, and every message, quote and payment stays securely on our platform.
If you're still deciding between New Jersey and New York, our artists cover both. Explore our live wedding painters in New York for weddings in NYC, the Hudson Valley and the Hamptons.
