Looking for a live wedding painter in Texas? Two live wedding painters on TheWeddingPainters live in Texas: Alexandra in The Woodlands, just north of Houston, and Hana in San Antonio. Their starting prices run from $1,800 to $3,500 for their smallest package, before travel. We checked every price on October 13, 2026.
From Hill Country ranches and vineyards to grand Houston ballrooms and historic San Antonio venues, Texas gives a painter big skies, warm light and plenty of room to work. A live wedding painter captures one moment from your day while it happens, as your guests gather round to watch, and you keep an original painting for your wall.

Both artists paint weddings all over Texas and travel further too. Where they live affects how much travel adds to your quote.
Houston, The Woodlands, Galveston and the Gulf Coast: Alexandra is closest. She lives about 30 miles north of downtown Houston.
San Antonio and South Texas: Hana is closest.
Austin and the Hill Country, including Fredericksburg, Dripping Springs, Wimberley and New Braunfels: Hana is closest, about an hour and a half's drive away. Alexandra is about three hours away.
Dallas and Fort Worth: neither artist lives there yet. Both travel to Dallas weddings, which are about four hours' drive from each of them.
West Texas, the Panhandle and El Paso: both travel there, so expect travel, and perhaps a flight or a night's stay, to be part of your quote.
Our other US artists also travel to Texas weddings. You will find them below the Texas artists, nearest first, or on our Central USA live wedding painters page.
Our two Texas artists start from $1,800 to $3,500 for their smallest package, before travel. These are the starting prices on each artist's page, not an average of what couples pay. We checked these prices on October 13, 2026.
Your quote grows with the size of the canvas and how much of the scene you want painted. Hana charges $1,800 for a 12x16 inch canvas of the two of you, and $3,000 for a 24x36 with your venue, guests and atmosphere. Alexandra charges $3,500 for a 16x20 and $6,000 for a 24x36. Her packages also include a consultation, composition planning before the day, studio finishing and a varnish.
Travel is added to your quote, plus a hotel if your artist needs one. Texas is big, so choosing an artist who lives near your venue makes a real difference. For a full breakdown of what US artists charge, read our US live wedding painter price guide.
Both artists paint in acrylic with a romantic, colorful style, so the choice usually comes down to four things.
Your budget: Hana starts at $1,800. Alexandra starts at $3,500.
Taking it home: Hana's Keepsake is finished on the night, so you leave with your painting. Alexandra finishes every painting in her studio and delivers it to your home.
How much of the scene: both offer canvases up to 24x36 inches, big enough for your venue and guests. Alexandra offers five sizes, so there are more steps in between.
Where you're marrying: Alexandra is closest for Houston and the Gulf Coast. Hana is closest for San Antonio, Austin and the Hill Country.
The best way to decide is to look at both portfolios, then book a short video call with the artist whose paintings you love most.
Spring and fall are the busiest wedding seasons in Texas, because the weather is milder. Popular Saturdays in those months are often the first dates to go, so reach out early. Summer weddings are just as possible, but most couples hold the reception indoors or start it in the evening, when it's cooler.
If your painter will be outside, ask your venue for a shaded spot that's protected from strong wind. Acrylic paint dries faster in hot, dry air, so tell your artist early if they'll be painting outdoors in summer. They can plan their setup and the time of day they paint.
Your artist needs a small corner with a clear view of the moment you want painted, good light, and enough room for guests to gather and watch. Most couples choose a spot near the dance floor. Send your artist photos of your venue before the day so they can plan the composition.
Both Texas artists ask for a 25% deposit to secure your date. On Hana's $1,800 Keepsake, that's $450. On Alexandra's $3,500 Signature, it's $875. The rest is due 30 days before your wedding. You pay through TheWeddingPainters, so your messages and payments stay in one place.
Their cancellation terms differ, so read them before you book. Hana refunds your deposit if you cancel more than 60 days before the wedding. Alexandra's deposit is non-refundable, and any remaining balance is refunded depending on how much notice you give. If either artist has already booked a flight for your wedding, that cost is taken off any refund. If your wedding moves to a new date, both will try to move your painting with it, depending on availability.
1. Compare artists. Look at each artist's paintings, style, starting price and where they are based.
2. Send a message. Share your date, your venue and the moment you would love painted.
3. Have a video call. The paintings might be wonderful, but you also need to connect with the person. Your artist will spend hours at your wedding, so a short call is the best way to know they are right for you.
4. Secure your date. Pay your deposit through TheWeddingPainters. Each artist's page shows their deposit and cancellation terms.
