How much will I earn?

How long do I have to get credit for a referral?
Your link is tracked for 180 days. Once a couple sends an enquiry through your link, the booking is credited to you whenever they confirm, even if that's months later.
Do I earn on gift cards?
Yes, 5% of every gift card bought through your link. Couples can use them for live painting at the wedding or for a studio commission afterwards, such as a painting of their favorite wedding photo. That makes gift cards easy to recommend for weddings, anniversaries and gifting all year round.
What if a gift card is put towards a bigger booking?
You still earn 5% of the total. If someone buys a £500 gift card through your link and it's used towards a £2,000 booking, you earn 5% on the £500 gift card and 5% on the remaining £1,500, so £100 in total. The couple doesn't need to click your link again.
How do group gift cards work for me?
When someone starts a gift card through your link, you earn 5% of their purchase straight away. If friends and family then add to the card, you earn 5% on the rest when the card is used for a booking. For example, someone starts a group gift card with £200 and nine friends add £200 each. You earn £10 when the card is bought, then £90 when the couple uses the £2,000 towards their painting. That's £100 in total, and you don't need to do anything else once the card has been bought.
Do studio commissions count?
Yes. If a couple books a studio commission through your link, you earn 5% of the full booking value, just as you would for live painting.
When do I get paid?
Commission is approved 30 days after the gift card purchase or booking, then paid monthly by bank transfer in your own currency.
What happens if a booking is cancelled?
Cancellations are very rare on TheWeddingPainters. If a booking is cancelled and refunded before your commission is approved, no commission is paid on it. If it's refunded after approval, we deduct it from your future earnings. We'll never ask you to pay anything back.
I'm based in the US. Can I join?
Yes, the program is open to UK and US creators. US creators are paid in US dollars and UK creators in pounds.
Can my audience get a discount?
Yes, discounts are available for approved partners. Get in touch and we'll set one up for your audience.
Do I need a big following?
No. An engaged audience of couples and wedding guests matters more than size.
Do I need to label my posts?
Yes. Please mark partner content as an ad, in line with ASA guidance in the UK and FTC guidance in the US.
Can I run paid ads?
You're welcome to promote your own content. Please don't bid on the TheWeddingPainters name in search ads.
Is there a cap on earnings?
No.
