Description
Live Wedding Painting
Painted on the day. Treasured for generations.
Your wedding day is filled with moments you'll want to remember forever. Imagine having one of those moments transformed into an original oil painting, created in the very atmosphere of your celebration and treasured by your family for generations.
I'm Amber, a Kent-based fine art painter specialising in realistic, highly detailed oil paintings. My passion lies in capturing the beauty of people, the emotion between them and the finer details that make each moment unique.
Unlike a traditional wedding photograph or a quick illustration, my paintings are carefully developed using traditional oil-painting techniques, combining the experience of live artistry with the refinement of studio portraiture.
My service offers more than a painting. It creates a memorable experience for you and your guests, who can watch your artwork come to life throughout the celebration. The finished piece becomes a timeless, personal heirloom that captures your special day in a truly unique way.

How It Works
1. Your Personal Consultation
Every painting begins with a conversation. Before your wedding, we'll arrange a consultation by phone or video call to discuss your vision.
Together, we'll choose the moment you would like captured, whether that's your first kiss, walking down the aisle, your first dance or a romantic portrait against the backdrop of your venue.
We'll also discuss the composition, canvas size, important details and any personal touches you would love included.
2. Preparing for Your Wedding Day
Ahead of your celebration, I'll coordinate the arrangements for my arrival and painting setup with you or your wedding coordinator.
I aim to arrive approximately 1–2 hours before my agreed painting start time, allowing me to prepare my workspace, become familiar with the surroundings and ensure everything is ready.
I'll take reference photographs of your chosen moment, along with important details such as your outfits, flowers and venue, so I can recreate them as faithfully as possible.
3. Live Painting at Your Wedding
This is where the magic begins!
I'll spend approximately 6–8 hours painting during your wedding celebration, gradually bringing your chosen scene to life in oils.
Guests are warmly encouraged to stop by, watch the painting develop, ask questions and speak with me about the artistic process.
It's a wonderful conversation starter and an opportunity for your loved ones to witness the beginnings of an artwork that will become part of your family's history.
4. Your Wedding-Day Reveal
Before I leave, you'll have the opportunity to see the painting's progress and appreciate how your special moment is taking shape.
As I specialise in realism and intricate details, the painting will not be fully completed on the wedding day. Instead, it will return to my studio, where I can dedicate the time and attention needed to achieve its final polished appearance.
5. Studio Refinement
Following your wedding, I'll continue developing your painting in my studio, carefully refining facial likenesses, clothing, lighting, colours and the smaller details that bring the scene together.
This is where the artwork receives the finishing touches that define my realistic painting style.
Please allow approximately 8–12 weeks for studio completion, depending on the size and complexity of your painting, alongside the drying requirements of traditional oil paints.
I'll provide progress updates throughout the process so you can continue to enjoy watching your artwork develop. Your are welcome to ask for minor adjustments at this stage and we will make sure you are happy again at the final approval.
6. Final Approval & Delivery
Once your painting is complete, I'll share photographs of the finished artwork for you to view.
After the necessary drying and finishing time, your original painting will be carefully packaged for safe delivery to your home, or collection can be arranged where appropriate.
Depending on size of package, the postage prize can vary. You will be notified on postage prices before we begin. I'll confirm your estimated completion and delivery timescales during the booking process and keep you informed of any changes.

More than wedding entertainment, it's a lasting reminder of one of life's most meaningful moments.

Cancellation & Refund Policy▼
Your wedding date is reserved exclusively for you once your booking is confirmed. As I accept a limited number of weddings, cancellations close to the event may leave insufficient time for the date to be rebooked. If you choose to cancel your booking, the following cancellation charges will normally apply: 180+ days before the wedding: 15% of the total booking value 90–179 days before: 25% of the total booking value 30–89 days before: 50% of the total booking value Less than 30 days before: 75% of the total booking value Any amount you have already paid above the applicable cancellation charge will be refunded. If I am able to secure another comparable booking for your cancelled date, I will review the cancellation charge and refund any amount that is no longer reasonably required to cover my losses, costs or work already undertaken. Changing your wedding date: Where possible, I am happy to transfer your booking to a new date rather than cancel it, subject to my availability. Please contact me as soon as possible if your plans change. If I am personally unable to provide the agreed service and we cannot agree a suitable alternative or replacement date, payments made for services not provided will be refunded. Any bespoke materials, artwork or preparatory work already completed at the time of cancellation may be charged where appropriate and will be explained to you. This policy operates alongside the platform's Terms & Conditions and your statutory consumer rights.
Artist's Service Terms▼
Important: These are the artist's service-specific terms. The platform's Terms & Conditions always take precedence.

- Cancellations & Date Changes: Cancellation charges apply according to the cancellation policy. Where possible, bookings may be transferred to another available date.
- Artistic Interpretation: Each painting is an original piece of artwork created in Amber’s realistic fine-art style. Minor artistic interpretation in colour, composition, lighting and detail forms part of the creative process.
- Revisions: Reasonable adjustments to likeness, colour and smaller details are welcomed during the approval process. Significant changes to an agreed composition, pose, background or subjects after painting has begun may incur an additional fee.
- Reference Photographs: Customers are responsible for ensuring they have permission to provide photographs for use as painting references, including professional wedding photographs where applicable.

- Completion & Delivery: Oil paintings require appropriate drying and finishing time. Estimated completion or delivery dates are therefore provided in good faith and may vary depending on the artwork and drying conditions.
- Artist Cancellation: If Amber is unable to provide the agreed service and a suitable alternative cannot be arranged, payments relating to services not provided will be refunded.

Who am I actually booking?
You're booking your artist directly. TheWeddingPainters connects you with independent artists, and once you confirm your booking, your contract sits directly with the artist you've chosen. We handle the booking process and payment on their behalf, so everything stays effortless and in one place from enquiry to wedding day.
Why should I pay through TheWeddingPainters instead of paying my artist directly?
Paying through TheWeddingPainters keeps your deposit and payments secure, your agreement recorded in one place, and our team on hand to step in if anything about the booking needs sorting out.
If you pay your artist privately, by bank transfer or PayPal, outside our system, we lose visibility of that payment and our ability to help. That matters most in the moment you'd need us: if there's a dispute, or your artist doesn't turn up on the day.
Keeping everything on-platform is what lets us actually protect your wedding day, not just process it.
What should I do if my artist asks me to pay them directly (bank transfer, PayPal, etc.)?
TheWeddingPainters is a booking platform – we help you and your artist keep the booking and payments clearly recorded. If payments happen privately, they won't appear in our system and it may limit how much we can assist if anything needs to be checked later.
If you ever feel unsure or pressured, please contact us and we'll take a look.
Will I lose any protection if I pay outside TheWeddingPainters?
If you pay your artist directly (for example by separate bank transfer, PayPal or cash), those payments won't show in your TheWeddingPainters booking record.
That means:
- We can't see what was paid, when, or on what terms
- It can be harder for us to help if there's a disagreement about what was included, what's still owed, or whether a refund is due
For that reason, we strongly recommend keeping all payments for your booking within TheWeddingPainters, where we process payments on your artist's behalf and keep a clear record for both of you.
