Description
Capturing your day
I'm a portrait artist based in Derbyshire, with over 10 years' experience creating oil paintings that celebrate people, light and meaningful moments.
Rather than simply recreating a photograph, I create an original work of fine art that captures the atmosphere, emotion and beauty of your wedding day. Working from sketches, observation, and carefully selected reference photographs and video, I interpret the moment through paint—bringing together the fleeting light, colour and feeling of the day into a timeless piece that is uniquely yours.
Each painting is created live at your wedding before being completed in my studio. The result is a handcrafted artwork designed not only to remind you how your wedding looked, but how it felt.
How it works
Before the Wedding
We’ll discuss your vision for the painting and choose the moment or atmosphere you’d love to capture on canvas — for example the ceremony, first kiss, or another meaningful scene.
On the Day
I will arrive early to set up and work on the under-painting. At our pre-agreed moment I will take some photos and video to use as a reference whilst painting your likeness. I will then continue working on the painting during your reception.
After the Wedding
I take the painting back to my studio to refine details, deepen colour and finish the piece in oils before varnishing. This ensures the final artwork feels complete and lasting.
The finished painting will be hand delivered to you (locally) approximately 8 - 10 weeks after the wedding.
All Packages include:
- Full consultation with me prior to your wedding to discuss your painting and preferences
- Up to 2 hours set-up and under-painting time, prior to your ceremony
- Dedicated time on the day to take reference photographs to paint from
- Studio finishing and varnishing for best quality and longevity. Completed paintings will then need time to dry and will be ready for shipping/delivery in 8-10 weeks
- Complimentary shipping, or hand delivery within 15 miles of my home studio (Wirksworth, Derbyshire)
Cancellation & Refund Policy▼
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required in order to secure your wedding date. The booking deposit and signed agreement will be received by the artist before any in-depth consultation calls. The remaining balance will be due 14 days before the wedding date. Client Cancellation: If the Clients cancel the booking entirely for any reason, the booking deposit remains non-refundable, as it secures the wedding date and prevents the Artist from accepting alternative work. Event Rescheduling: If the Clients request to reschedule the wedding date, the Artist will make every reasonable effort to accommodate the new date. If the Artist is available for the new date, the booking deposit and any payments made will transfer to the new date at no extra charge. A contract amendment reflecting the new date must be signed by both parties. If the Artist is unavailable for the requested new date, the event will be treated as a Client Cancellation. The original booking deposit will remain non-refundable, and the Clients will be released from any remaining balances. Artist Incapacity: If the Artist is unable to attend due to sudden illness, injury, family emergency, or other unforeseen personal circumstances, all monies paid by the Clients to date will be refunded in full. In this event, the Artist will make reasonable efforts to recommend an alternative live painter, but a replacement service cannot be guaranteed. Force Majeure: Neither party shall be held liable for a failure or delay in fulfilling their obligations under this Agreement due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control. These events include, but are not limited to: severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions or lockdowns, venue closures, major transportation disruptions, pandemics, riots, or other force majeure events. If a Force Majeure event requires the total cancellation of the wedding or forces a reschedule to a date where the Artist is unavailable, the Clients will be released from any remaining balances. However, the initial booking deposit remains non-refundable to cover the Artist's administrative costs and the reservation of the date up to that point.
