Description
For me, a wedding brings together everything an artist could want to paint: people at their happiest, a beautiful setting chosen because it means something, and a moment unlike any other. I bring all of that together in a vibrant, colourful painting without losing sight of what matters most, the people at the centre. Guests get to watch the artwork come alive throughout the celebration, while you receive an original painting that brings you right back to that magic moment each time it catches your eye.
ARE WE A GOOD FIT?
I’m a self-taught artist who loves to paint colour. I want my work to be vibrant, to pop and to capture attention in the room. I love working with couples who aren’t afraid to step outside tradition and want a painting that doesn’t sit quietly on the wall, but fills the room with colour, energy and personality. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I'm probably the artist for you.
HOW IT WORKS
- Before the wedding, we’ll talk about the moment you would like me to capture, who should be included and what you love about your venue.
- I’ll arrive at the venue with everything I need, set up and begin bringing your chosen scene to life.
- I’ll paint as the celebrations unfold, using reference photographs alongside what I see and experience to create an original interpretation of the day, not simply reproduce a single photograph.
- Guests are welcome to stop, watch and talk to me as the painting develops. You’re also very welcome to peek!
- Where the schedule allows, I’ll arrange an end-of-evening first look so you can see the painting and take photographs before I leave.
- I’ll then take the artwork back to my studio for detailed completion and refinement, giving the final touches the time they deserve.
- Once finished, your original painting will be signed, varnished and returned to you, ready to become part of your home.
CHOOSING YOUR PACKAGE
INTIMATE COUPLE PORTRAIT
Best for couples who want the focus firmly on the two of them, with a softer or simpler interpretation of the setting around them.
This is a closer composition in which you are unmistakably the focus. I’ll capture the two of you within your chosen moment, simplifying the surroundings so that the painting remains centred on your connection.
FULL WEDDING SCENE
Best for couples who want a larger sense of the whole occasion, incorporating more people and the details of their venue, landscape or décor.
This wider composition gives the setting a much bigger part to play. It allows me to include more of the venue, landscape or décor that made you choose it, while still keeping the two of you at the heart of the painting.
Full prices and inclusions for both options are listed in the individual package descriptions.
TO ENQUIRE
Please send me your wedding date, venue, the moment you would love to have painted and which package you’re considering. If you’re unsure which option is right for you, tell me what you have in mind and I’ll happily guide you.
I work in acrylic and occasionally mixed media (acrylic and oil on the same painting) on canvas and am based in Skipton, North Yorkshire, but I’m available for weddings throughout the UK.

ARTIST SERVICE TERMS
Scope of the artwork
The canvas size, number of principal people, level of background detail, time at the venue and any additional services will be confirmed when the booking is made.
The painting will be created in my established artistic style. It is an original interpretation of the wedding rather than an exact photographic reproduction. I will use reference photographs alongside my own observations and artistic judgement to create the final composition.
Reference photographs
The client confirms that they have permission to provide any photographs supplied for use as artistic references. Reference photographs will only be used for the purpose of planning and creating the commissioned artwork unless separate permission is provided.
Revisions
One consolidated round of minor adjustments, involving up to two hours of additional studio work, is included. Revision requests must be submitted within seven days of receiving the digital preview and before the artwork is varnished.
Minor adjustments may include small changes to colour, detail or likeness. They do not include changing the agreed scene, replacing the principal reference image, adding new people, substantially altering poses or backgrounds, or requesting a different artistic style.
Any work outside the included revision allowance will be discussed and quoted separately. Further changes cannot be made once the painting has been approved and varnished.
Ownership and copyright
The client owns the physical painting once full payment has been received. Copyright in the artwork remains with the artist.
The client may display the painting in their home and share photographs of it on personal social media. Credit to the artist is appreciated where practical.
The artwork may not be reproduced commercially, sold as prints, used on merchandise or licensed to another business without written permission from the artist.
Photography and promotional use
I may photograph or film my setup, painting process, finished artwork and the general atmosphere around the live painting for use in my portfolio, website, social media and advertising.
Guests will be informed through clear signage at my painting station and will be given an opportunity to tell me if they do not wish to appear. I will respect any objection and will avoid publishing, remove or obscure identifiable footage where reasonably requested.
The client agrees to inform me before the wedding of any known photography restrictions or guests who must not be included.
Guests appearing incidentally in wider photographs or video of the painting process will not normally be asked for individual permission. I will not use close-up images of individual guests as featured promotional content without their permission, and identifiable images of children will not be used without appropriate permission.
Any professional photographs supplied after the wedding may only be used with the permission of the photographer or copyright holder.
Completion
The painting will return to my studio after the wedding for detailed completion, client review and varnishing. The anticipated completion and delivery timeframe will be confirmed as part of the booking.
These service terms supplement and remain subject to The Wedding Painters’ platform terms and booking protections.
